A Little Diddy About Me

Updated: Dec 24, 2020

Ooooh it’s my first post about ME! 😲🤭😆

What to say? I was exposed to many forms of the arts as a growing kid in the ‘80s. One of my artistic loves in my life was playing music. I began playing violin in 5th grade and started flute in 6th grade. I kept playing both instruments through 9th grade. I was even in a youth symphony playing both violin and flute. No one else in the symphony played two instruments!

I started dancing at the young age of 4 years old. I continued dancing all forms of dance until I was 19. I went to Kent State University in Kent, OH to major in Dance Education but midway through my 2nd semester, I landed wrong after a jump and hurt both of my hips severely. Injured hips along with bad knees and sciatic pain in my back put an end to my lifelong dream of being a professional dancer.

My other passion in life was listening music by bands and going to as many concerts as possible! My father was a professional DJ for many years so I was exposed to many different styles of music. This makes it very hard to answer people when they ask me “What’s your favorite style of music?” My answer is notoriously “EVERYTHING!” I usually get strange looks, but it doesn’t phase me.

I truly love music from the 1930s to current day music, but my true love is the Golden Era of Hip Hop (1980s - 2000). My second favorite is the psychedelic music from the ‘60s. I always joke around saying I was born in the wrong decade due to my undying love of the music from that era.

With this blog I hope to bring awareness to new music, obscure music, and well known musicians to the less known ones.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog entries and also learn a thing or two along the way!

Peace✌🏼 love❤️ and music🎶
